Yeah, good question, But undressing (and dressing) can be provacative, and a vulnerable moment.....they leave you to do that alone, give you that one bit of privacy. Like what if while taking off your pants your feet got tangled up and you fell down. Wouldn't you rather be alone when that happened? But it is an intimate act, so they leave the room.

in all hospitals we have what is called an ethics comittee, It is just plain good manners to let you get dressed/undressed in private. Sure he will be seeing you, but not your whole body. the doc only needs to see what is vital for your checkup =)

Because when they leave they have to tell your real doctor what is wrong and all that
