Lipids are water insoluble and soluble in organic solvents-slimy to touch.-inflammable.

Stored energy in adipose Tissue,when carbohydrates are not available--maintains structural integrity in cell membranes.Helps in transport of fat soluble nutrients like vitamins A,D,E,K etc.many steroids including cholesterol are fat soluble.Lipids secreted by sebaceous glands(sebum) gives a cosmetic effect(shining) to skin.Sebum helps in removal of certain fat soluble catabolites also. Phopholipids Lecithin,cephalin,Spingomyelin gives a covering sheath to nerons as electric(micro volts) insulator,Glyco o Lipids etc have specific functions

Liquid molecules slide past one another. They have more energy and motion but less attraction than solids.They have less energy and motion but more attraction than gases. There are many types and kinds of liquids in the world so there really isn't any particular functions unless a specific name of liquid is given.
