Mostly the dishes came in oatmeal (dark green) or they were givin away in the 30's at the theatres to get folks to go to the movies in the depression, thus the name depression dishes, If you went in the middle of the week you got a bigger better dish, on the week end you got cup or saucer, etc.
DUZ gave away dish towels in the fifties, if they gave away dishes they were small sauce dishes or saucers and cups

They were in Tide!!! I found my set at an estate sale, but guess what? they're at the dollar stores, Granny! Why? because they were not making "microwave safe" dishes yet, these dishes, some of them are like, bone china and high-end ceramic(my mom says that), they're made of the good stuff, however not the expensive, BEST stuff, which was always fine with us! They don't make 'em anymore, most of what you can get is new vintage, never sold. Also, try the thrift shops and resale places. I wanna go,too!!!***smile*** Have fun!!!

Several laundry detergents had dishes, glasses, towels etc. If you check at Goodwill or Salvation army stores you can sometimes find them, also might try e-bay .

Try eBay, and search for "1950s detergent free dishes" or something like that.
