I need to clean up some stuff that has been said here. First off, do NOT get a Quadro for gaming. The first guy said they were good for very very VERY high end gaming, that is flat out false. They are meant for professinal work, if you spend that much money expecting high end gaming performance, you will be very disappointed.
As for the thing about the 2900XT 1GB outbenchmarking the GTX, sorry but that plain isn't true. It does win on a few games, but in the overwhelming majority the GTX is better. And for everyone who keeps saying "wait for the drivers to mature" that is not the problem, the 2900 is fatally flawed in that it is poorly designed with not enough texture units or raster operators to go along with its shader processing power. Sorry to the ATI/AMD fans, but this is the flat out truth.

Two of these in crossfire just set the world record for 3DMark 2006. A 1GB 2900XT benchmarks faster than a GTX and is expected to dust the Ultra as the drivers mature. 1GB of DDR4 running thru a 512bit memory bus---Awesome. You need a massive PSU with both 8 pin and 6 pin connectors in order to run the ATI overdrive to O/C it thou. A coolermaster 750 Pro will work fine with it. I was gonna get one but, since I'm not buiding a new gaming rig til after the X38 boards and 45nm quads come out i settled for an XFX 640MB 8800GTS that runs fine with my "puny" 550watt Antec PSU to tide me over.

pretty soon. within one year maybe. nvidia already released the geforce 8800 GTX and 8800 ultra with 768 mbs of memory. the card was released last year i believe.
~UPDATE~
in addition to the 1gb ati radeon cards the other guys mentioned, theres also the nvidia geforce quadro. very useful, not as available. its fast quiet and for qork that requires graphics like rendering or very very VERY high end gaming. its costs 2399.99 at newegg =o. but look at the bright side, the shipping is only 6.33.

The ati 2900 XT 1 GB (I think I spelled it right) is a 1 GB card.
Still, it is incrediblely power inefficient compared to what nvidia offers.
I think the geforce 9 series will have a 1 GB card also.
