I have a 10g tank with the following: 3 Male Guppies (Max. Length 1.5 Inches), 2 Male Dwarf Sunrise Coral Platies (Max. Length 1.5 Inches), and 2 Ghost Shrimp (1 Inch).

How does my tank setup sound? Is this a good number of fish?

yes as by going all males, you eliminate the chance of oversstocking via breeding.

I would increase the ghost shrimp numbers to 4.

Yeah, as BettaChris said, you won't have to deal with fry, so you are in good shape. You probably have room for another other fish as well. Maybe a Dwarf Gourami? They are very peaceful towards other species and a nice blue Dwarf Gourami would look great with your orange/red Platies.

EDIT: The wast output of 4 adult Ghost Shrimp isn't that much different than that of a Gourami (and it is by no means a large fish at 2 inches as an adult).

The key ratio for a fish tank is 1 gallon of water per 1 inch of fish. Now that being said, it looks like you have approximately 15 inches of fish plus the crabs. You can definitely get some more fish. As far as the whole shark thing, you should be okay owning a small one for a while...the neon tetras are kind of small and once that shark grows he might want to eat them. I have a bala shark and he is doing just fine in my tank. I have 12 cardinal tetras, 2 mollys, 1 ghost catfish, 2 scissortail rasbora, 1 blue gourami, 6 shrimp, 1 crab, and a couple algae eaters. I hope that answers your question!

Your setup sounds fine. All male guppies eliminate the possibility of them breeding and overstocking your tank. Depending on the sex of your Platies you may end up with some babies there but they don't generally breed like guppies do.

It sounds good to me, you might be able to add some more shrimp but I wouldn't add any more fish.
