New York City, construction risk management for large institutional owners, more than $350K plus bonus. 20 years experience since graduation from law school, with ten years in the construction industry and another five in insurance.

That depends completely on their position.

- they may be working for legal aid and make $40k per year
- could be working for a law firm and make 80K
- public defenders 35k
- partners in a firm vary by cases, etc... 100k to 1million+

i make 160k plus great benefits and my best buddy is also an atttorney in NY and he makes 25 dollars an hour and no benefits. so weigh your options and look at the recent wsj article.

Money earned by lawyers depend on their performance, expertise and sometimes on quantum meruit.
