Yes. The one time that I really knew about it was a doozy. I was so hurt and bewildered, I avoided the person for a few weeks. When the person called me, acting innocent, asking to get together, I confronted them about the gossip and lies. Their hesitance and stammering was all the confirmation I needed. Our 5 year long friendship was over.

It was all because I had a job the other person wanted. All they had to do was wait just a little longer, I had another job lined up, was leaving, and would have recommended them as my replacement. Needless to say, the job was assigned to someone else!
