I prefer my rooms to be no more than 15c with heating, but then i do not put my heating on untill December and off in March, apart from the time i have visitors.
No point is using more heat as my windows are left open the rest of the year and i am over 60 yrs.

No more than 80 f and no less than 70 f in any event the most comfortable for you depending on what you are doing. The more heat the bigger the bill

Sod the expense, throw another log on. When you reach old age you need to keep warm.
Ideally 60 degs. should keep you snug.
