Mouse Scroller?

i have a dell laptop and the thing on my mousepad that is supposed to scroll when i run my finger over it works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes. can anybody tell me why and how to fix it?

It's probably because you're not touching the edge of the touchpad all the time when you try to use it.

You could try increasing the size of the scrolling area on the touchpad and see if that helps (although it will reduce the area you have to move the mouse, not an issue for those who prefer pointing sticks).

try clicking inside the window that you want to scroll in. whenever mine doesnt scroll all i have to do is click in an open space on the window i want and it usually works
