Me? Scared? Ha! There are those I wouldn't choose to befriend! But never one I would be afraid to accept. If this is the case you should just say no! Really, fearing someone that may be abusive, or someone out of your comfort zone, or even the wrong sex, is not a positive thing. I mean what kind of foundation is that for a friendship? Naw, be nice but, there is no need to develop this kind of relationship. Your 360 looked like you have plenty of good solid friends, why chance a fearful exchange?

All the time. I was/am a quiet person by nature, and it is hard to start talking to people that I have never met. It is hard to start up conversations when you really don't know what to talk about. I have gotten better with those type of situations, though. I more or less make myself talk to people about whatever and go from there. Sometimes it takes off and other times, it is a little awkward. You win some, lose some.

Yup.
this one girl came up to me,
Viv, and said "If you're going
to be my friend, watch out,
I can be mean."
That's the first thing she said
to me, I was so taken back.
Then she laughed and said
she was just kidding.
She has sort of (dry humor) like that.
It's not really funny,
when she tells a joke everyone looks
at each other and sorts of laughs
just to make her feel better.
But I'll admit, she's still a little scary.

i tell you what....
friendship is not the kind of thing that comes just like that....
those who are speaking to each other need to resonate at the same frequency in order to become friends....
in my case, i have a lot of acquaintances, but selected friends...
even in that i need to think about whom to have really close and whom to have comparatively far..... and even this thing depends on my mood.....
