Do you guys think this guy's overrated? I Know he had a monster season last year. But I think that because he played with a bunch of superstars, it made his stats look better than what his actual skill level is. I've seen him play live many of times, and I haven't been impressed with his overall ability on the ice. I know a lot of you will disagree; but can anyone at least see where I'm coming from?

overrated? i'd say he is causing conniption fits on the opposing bench! you don't have to be impressed,because you are obviously in awe.the av's have 2 scoring interchangeable lines! he happened to come in the same year as malkin and kopitar,and won't be flying under the radar much longer

i don't really think he is, beyond which he is still getting used to the league. i watched 2 games this year and he looked pretty sick.
and as far as fantasy hockey, he will be good no matter what cause the Avs are even better now
and what are you talking about superstars, he was rolling with hejduk last season on the second line who struggled a bit last season so . . . thats just wrong

Can't see where you are coming from at all.
He has an amazing puck sense similar to his father, grandfather, and his uncles. He's a great puckhandler, has good vision, and uses it well. he's also a very good skater and finds open ice.
If you are expecting to be dazzled......you'll be disappointed. Mario Lemieux dazzled people, Wayne Gretzky didn't, but they both got the job done.
Paul Stastny won't dazzle you, but he'll be in bthe right place at the right time, and he'll make far more smart decisions with the puck than bad ones, but he's not going to single-handedly deke through the opposition ala Bobby Orr.

Yeah he's overrated, he just scored 5 points in tonight's game and now leads the NHL with 8 points in 3 games. He's way overrated, I can't see why the Avs drafted him.

He IS overrated...
And that's why I predicted he'd score 1,000 goals...
this season. Not, like, 5,000. Some people, you know, just jump on the bandwagon and start naming outrageous numbers. I try to be a realist.
