They are the 'Vampires' of the insect world, they sleep in their cocoon like coffins during the day and they come out in search of human victims at night just like our human Vampires.

they play an important role in the ecosystem. They are food for other animals such as frogs. Although i personally want them all to die they carry on the food chain and also produce other foods like mosquito lava (mosquito babys) other small animals eat this also. Another example is when they fly into a spiders web. This is provided food for them as well. I sit here also with a mosquito bite.
p.s never scratch your mosquito bites. They go away after 15 minutes of being created if you dont scratch them.
wow i dont know how i know this stuff.!

We have good reasons to hate them. But, mosquitoes are part of Nature as we are. Mosquitoes sometimes spread diseases. And that’s a more serious problem. Examples of mosquito-borne diseases include malaria, yellow fever and West Nile virus.
So mosquitoes aren’t exactly a friend. At least not to humans.
But they are a friend to flowers. They slurp, suck and otherwise feed on sugary plant juice and nectar. In doing so they pollinate flowers. And that’s an important job in nature.
Mosquitoes play a role in the eco-system.

I just answered a question pointing out their place in the food chain. They are very important. I sit here with six mosquito bites that itch like hell... but they are a vital part of the ecosystem.
There are many bugs that suck blood: Ticks, lice, bedbugs, various flies (horse, deer, sand, etc), and more...
Like mosquitoes, these insects are a built in part of their environment. Though it may be hard to think about when you're itching, they exist for a reason.

One day, one of the chemicals inside a mosquito might be used to make a new drug. If all of the mosquitoes were killed, scientists would never have the chance to find out.
I do hate them though,

Mosquitoes are an important food for migratory birds in season, and other insectivores.
But this doesn't mean you have to like them.
