Well some of the new stuff is great, but it is mainly copies off the old stuff. I'd kill to have the rock from the old days back, too (even though I wasn't born then, I absolutely love it).

Rock from the 70s/80s needed talent to make. Bands these days dont put any effort into there music. They make an album with just one "good" song in it that will constantly play on the radio for a couple of months. If you look back to the 70's you had bands like Pink Floyd, who made amazing albums like The Wall...The Dark Side of the Moon...both were amazing albums as a whole. Not just one or two songs. Now bands just want to make a great amount of money in the shortest period of time.

Too many radio stations are just like sheep - they have to follow the flock. And it's always been that way, even in the '70s and '80s. There are too many great songs I've only heard ONE TIME on the radio or Empty Vee - um, oops, I mean MTV. Prince's "Delirious", Men At Work's "Dr. Heckle And Mr. Jive", the Plimsouls' "Lost Time"... oh, no! Give us Celine Dion instead!
I listened to nothing but country for awhile, but I got bored with all the commercials, the rock 'n' roll-style drums and the tired old identical-sounding ballads. I like the full-on, hardcore, redneck, twangin' stuff.
There is still some good music out there today, but you have to weed out all the John Mayer, Dave Matthews and crap like that.

Good point, but their are good examples of top notch music in every genre.I absolutely love rock(modern, old school ,metal etc.)but I like classical music, new age, and little hip hop/rap every now and then. But as far as music being bad mow a days as whole, that would only prove my point that society is taking a nose dive(socially, and mentally)Bad music, movies and other media is just a sign of how degraded our standard has become.

Because business has gotten into music too much.Too many bands are doing it solely for the money. The days of making music for musics' sake are long gone my friend. Everyone is out to make a fast million or two.

I have no idea. I'm starting to hate some of my former favorites, like Fall Out Boy, now because everyone just a marketing scheme it feels like these days. I wish Blondie was still big, or The Beatles.

Some music now is ok but Bon Jovi is in his late 40's and still rockin it! He is my IDOL! I'm a 13-year-old bon jovi fan! He was great when my mom was my age and he still is! The Eagles are great too! And Elvis may be dead but he's still popular!

I'd rather to listen to Rock than any of the stuff that's coming out today!! With New country it's the same thing, it's not really country, I'll listen to classic country!!
