That's nuts - I wasn't even aware he had used that studio. Who knows what sort of effect Reznor was hoping to get outta that experience?

Steven B - agreed on the "Whole Lotta Love" moaning sequence ... it still annoys me. But that's ok because I'm not a huge Led Zep fan :)

Don't you just hate that?! When even your favorite bands have certain songs that just sound plain silly, or have pretentious-sounding lyrics?...LOL... I totally understand Sookie.

Oh no Ozman! But why Karma Police?

LOL Spooky -- It's sad that some people don't know anything beyond "The Real Thing"... so many good songs ... and to be fair to the band, I'll say that even the first two albums with Mosely (minus Patton) were pretty phenomenal

I would have to say the 6th & 7th albums from the Damned...."Phantasmagoria" & "Anything"!! Captain Sensible had left the Damned at the time & the crap on those albums showed his influence in The Damned's music was sorely missing!!! It was all keyboard based crap....the insanity was gone....the unexpected was now the expected from them! Thankfully, he's with the Damned again & the insanity lives on!! As far as a certain song, I like one song from each of those albums but if you're a true Damned fan like me....it was way more than just one song, so I can't give you just one song!! Those above mentioned albums are not in my CD collection!!!

I used to get annoyed by any band I liked when a bunch of kids I didn't much care for liked them a lot. It bordered on anti-social the way I'd completely turn on an artist when I found out a large part of their fan base were 14 year old brats. Luckily I've grown out of that or else a few good bands that attract the wrong crowd on accident (ie the Sex Pistols, Slaughter & the Dogs or any other band that played with the "bootboy" or skinhead image) would be sorely missed in my library.

But to actually answer the question (sorry, I'm a rambler), even though sometimes I don't find it utterly repulsive the song "Rock The Casbah" has always annoyed me. It doesn't sound anything at all like the Clash I love, but it's still at least mediocre so I'd listen to it, but then i saw the video O.O . Joe was trying to pull off the mohawk and Mick was all decked out in the army clothes and it was really to the point that the excesses they had originally been against had started slipping into their system, in short, they had rockstar syndrome. That really put me off it and the rest of the album, although I still like "Straight To Hell". And it doesn't help that that's the only song they're recognized for around here, whenever I mention the Clash that's the only song anyone can think of and it kind of irks me.

"We Will Fall" by the Stooges gets on my nerves occasionally, if not because it's dull and weird then because it's so long. What's that about then?

Love/sad/longing songs that sound completely contrived get on my nerves. Example: "Since You Went Away" by Slaughter and the Dogs, it just sounds like they figured they needed at least one mushy song on their debut CD so they slapped one together real quick. Meh.

The album version of "True Confessions" by the Undertones didn't do it for me, the one in the bonus tracks on the first album with the rough guitars and normal vocals was much better.

I kind of want to hate "I'll Be Your Mirror" by the Velvets but I can't, it's too sweetish.

The Vocals on "Unheard Music" by X get on my nerves, too slow and dragging, and the song could have been 2 minuttes shorter and you wouldn't hear me complain.

"Within You Without You" by the Beatles was too eastern for me, screw that. But then that other track on Revolver really pisses me off, the one that's like 11 minutes of interview excerpts and funny sounds and sound clips, "Revolution 9" is it? They keep repeating "number 9, number 9, number 9" anyways. Screw that too.

David Bowie would have save a lot of respect from me if he hadn't realeased a lot of his later stuff, "Let's Dance" comes to mind.

"American Trilogy" by Elvis doesn't impress me much.

Me and a friend were actually talking about the moaning in "Whole Lotta Love" the other day, and mimicking it and laughing at what a terrible idea it was. The moans and gasps in "Orgasm Addict" by the Buzzcocks worked much better 8). How terrible "Kashmir" is is also a common topic of conversation, that same progression over and over for what? 8 minutes? Why? And then I read something like that was almost of the members's favorite song. But then again like yourself neither of us is much of a Led Zeppelin fan either. Love their music when they get it right ("Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" on Led Zeppelin III is quite catchy no matter who you are), but the proggier stuff is definitely a bonerkill. Well this post is entirely too long, I apologize to you all :( .

Well, I'm not a fan at all, but I do enjoy Green Day's music. However, I thouroughly DESPISE the song Warning. I hate it so much. It sounds like something a three year old would make up. It has one of the most annoying tunes ever, and the lyrics are just random phrases horribly set to music. It just sucks on so many levels.

Also Revolution 9 by the Beatles. Of course that was meant to be annoying, so it doesn't count. :)

I agree about Dani California, old Chili Peppers is way better.
Earth to Bella by Incubus. That whole CD is a little weak
Next Exit by Interpol. Not a very strong opening song
The Widow by the Mars Volta. Was made for the radio
Starlight by Muse. I prefer heavier Muse
Last Kiss by Pearl Jam. Not a good cover
Karma Police by Radiohead. I get a lot of crap for this one

NIN - Capital G - This song as well as this album were disappointing on so many levels. But this song sums it up well. I'd rather not get a political lecture from a man who had no problem with using the house that Charles Manson slaughtered his victims in as a recording studio.

MachPen - He didn't record that song in the Tate Mansion per se, but his older material. Still, the fact that he did in the past is very distasteful. Especially now that he has become a "preacher-man."

Sookie - Dead on. I listened to Pink Cellphone in its entirety the other day. Starts out OK, but that final 90 seconds of Annie Hardy's spoken word was retarded.

Of, I guess, the two more popular songs that the mainstream public is more aware of, it's "Float On" by Modest Mouse and "Stand" by REM. Maybe it's because both songs brought the bands into more of the limelight but they hit me in a very irritating fashion. Being a MM fan for a while before "Good News for People who Like Bad News" came out, I was severely disappointed after hearing such great tracks as "Trailer Trash", "Doing the Cockroach", and "Talking Sh!t about a Pretty Sunset."

Same goes for REM. It's hard to believe that the band who previously put out great albums like "Murmur" and "Life's Rich Pagaent" could put out such utter crap.

MachPen: I definitely agree with you. *sniff* And it makes the rest of us worse for it.

Ozman: No offense but you deserve a lot of crap for that one.

Well, the album Almost Here by The Academy is... is a top 3 album of all time for me. But honestly, almost every song from Santi ESPECIALLY we've got a big mess on our hands is annoying and sucks.

It's no secret that I LOOOVE Faith No More, but the song Epic kills me. I just can't stand it! It was the song that hit big, but to me, it was the weakest song they put out. The whole song just grates on my nerves... The thing that grates on my nerves more, is when I'm riding with somebody and I change it and they say "dude why did you change that, it was Faith No More's only good song". It makes me crazy!

"Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin is the most annoying song by one of the best bands of all time.

I hate every part of the song. Probably due to overexposure of the song when I was younger.
