The Fall is my favorite due to the beautiful Fall colors and nice weather. October is the best! After that, Summer and Winter are tied depending on what you like to do. If you love skiing and such, Winter is great in the UP in Michigan. If you like swimming and boating, Summer is the obvious choice. The only season I dislike in Michigan is Spring. The weather is unpredictable, but usually cold, rainy, and muddy. Yuck!

If you do any research on the weather conditions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during each season, I believe you would be able to answer your own question. However, I will help you out. I would say go with the norm: late spring, summer.

Washington is a VERY VERY, cool state, mountain areas and ****, the only thing I hear bad about there is it's the only state that makes online gambling illegal, so if you plan on gambling online do not go there, I don't know anything about Carolina, Oklahoma is close to texas so it will be a more southern state, but you might like that ask someone who actually lives there, Maine is basically any ol other northern state except it's very high up and could get very cold, I live in Michigan and I say don't come here, it's a beautiful state but it's being ruined and tooken over by the government at the moment, the government literally turned into fascist see sources below. it also has a very bad company, hence the government take over but I disagree with their reasoning.

Either the winter or the summer... it is really pretty in the winter, because they normally get more snow than the lower peninsula, and in the summer it is really pretty too.
but it kind of depends on where you are visiting too...
also get a pasty while you're up there, and some makinaw fudge on the way to where you are going... they are amazing!

I've been to the UP alot. My favorite times are late summer to early fall. (End of July-End of October). Spring and early summer can be full of mosquitoes and the dreaded black flies. These usually die down in August. By early November things usually get pretty cold.
Winter can be fun, if you like skiing and snowmobiling, but I'm more into the summer stuff.

Oh, as us michiganians call it Up North. Go up north for skiing. Otsego Ski club is the best. There's many others. Fall in mackinac is so cool ( Mackinac island and Traverse City and Harbor Springs are so awesome). Traverse city is cool to shop around in and of course lots of lakes. harbor springs has lakes, shops, and many cool houses and things to look at. I reccomend Harbor Springs and Mackicnac, because there so pretty in summer ( mid), fall and winter ( early winter) :) Have fun! Also Petsosky with the cool stones :)

The fall, because of the miles and miles of forests changing colors. It can be breathtaking! In the UP, there are fewer "seasons," more like Winter/Summer! If you are into snow, then visit Mackinac Island in the winter for a fairy land of winter!

Fall, it's so rural, and there's tons of trees that change, it's really pretty. I wouldn't suggest winter, you're likely to get stuck. Summer is all right up there, but it's still kinda cool and the lakes are COLD! (unless you like cold water). Spring... it's just spring.

I'd say the fall with all the colors! Crossing Mackinaw Bridge will give you a great view!! Be sure to go to Mackinaw Island and ride bicycles around it!
But there's Pictured Rocks and Grand Marquis too!

I've been here all my life, in Michigan that is, and i still have yet to go to the U-P. but from what i hear, the best time to go there is in the early fall, because the colors that the trees turn out up there are beyond compare.... so check it out
