Yes and depended on it for food throughout the year [canning and freezing] but where I am now the critters reign and no vegetable will remain untouched to be harvested.
I tried many things. The best was dusting with cayenne pepper...until they developed a taste for spicy food. Ah well.

hi, You did not specify what varieties of veg. you desire to plant. stay away from plant life like pumpkins and squash. they want alot of area. yet, in case you are able to desire to included a trellis, you have the mini pumpkins, cucumbers, and eco-friendly beans without utilising alot of your area. I plant my tomatoes with morning glories vining up them. There are different vining plant existence that could artwork too. i'd plant short flower annuals like marigolds and solar Coleus and Feathers (Celosia spp.) in front of the taller plant life. yet another component that provides interest i think of are sunflowers. There are the big ones or multibloom variations. And with their top and capability you've got greater plant existence or vining vegetables utilising them as a trellis. in basic terms make optimistic to contemplate all plant heights once you place them, so each and every thing gets sufficient solar. make optimistic your soil is in solid shape too. i exploit organic and organic compost (Lowes) and sluggish launch fertilizer granules. For my tomatoes however I water them with Miracle improve as quickly as each and every week. nicely, desire this permits. solid success! Lori

It's been 8 years since I planted my big garden but I used to grow peas, cukes, brocoli, lettuce, corn, carrots, miniature pumpkins, cantalope and string beans. I miss it.

Yes, every year I do and the kids also help me out planting them and they love watching the garden grow and pick everything when its ready. We planted cucumber, spinach, eggplant, red cabbage, plum tomatoes, grape tomatoes, beef stake tomatoes, lettuce, banana sweet peppers, bell peppers, strawberries, watermelon (which they did not do well), garlic, and basil. : )

I still enjoy the fruits of oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, apricots, plums, cherries, figs, peaches, grapes and raspberries every year. I love it!
