V= 3g divided by 7.89g/cm
(V=M/D)

I can't figure out if I'm supposed to cancel out the grams ,use grams or what? And please ,if you give me the answer please give an explanation as well because I have a dozen more problems like this one.

The grams will cancel and you will end up with the volume in cm^3 . This is because density is in g/cm^3 the grams will cancel because you are dividing and one g will be on top and one on the bottom so they cancel

The units go with the numbers. Here you have

3g / 7.89g/cm^3
invert and multiply
(3g / 1) * (1cm^3 / 7.89g) = (3 / 7.89) cm^3
