Not really...some of them make their money on consultations alone. I know a guy who throughout his whole 10 year career has only had like 3 cases but he's making moogoo bucks.

Well, of course being "poor" is subjective. That being said, many lawyers do not make a lot of money. Many make $35000 - $40000 per year... That's about $16 - $18 per hour when working full time (40 hours per week, ) folks. That's not quite the salary I would be looking for after spending BIG $$$$$ on my JD.

I had a 750,000 dollar case I worked on for 4 yrs, and my lawyer screwed it up by leaving something crucial off of the original claim. The defendant (whom was the city) got my case thrown out. It was my lawyers fault, so, YEA, there are some bad lawyers out there....

Sorry I misunderstood your question....but the answer is still yes....my lawyer is poor, cuz I got his license taken away and now hes working construction. He also pays me money out of guilt.
