i don't want my period this month, so i skipped the "reminder pills" and started a new pack. but it didn't work, i started my period today. so, does that mean my period will start when its suposed to? even when im trying to control it using the pill. should i take an extra pill in an attempt to stop it? i really don't want my period....this is a really bad time.

The bleed that you had because of skipping the reminder pills is actually breakthrough bleeding which can act a lot like a period. Because the body is attempting to have a period yes, you may have bleeding at the time you would normally have your cycle.

Some brands of pills don't work the best for trying to stop periods for a time. I tried a formulation of Loestrin about 10 years ago to stop my period and had more problems because the amount of hormone in the medication was not high enough for me to not have a period.

I would recommend talking to your doctor as well to see what they suggest about a brand that may work better for holding off your period for a while.
