For one thing, it's a "gateway" drug to many other drugs. Also it impairs judgement, is addictive, etc

I tried weed a few times in high school and never liked it. However, I think it should be legal and think that alot more people than ever before agree. It is less harmful than cigs, because you are not smoking all day. It is less harmful and less impairing than alcohol. Ever seen a brawl between a bunch of stoners? Didn't think so. How many drunk driving fatalities are there per year? MJ induced car wrecks? That's what I thought. Also, it being a gateway drug is stupid. More people get hooked on drugs through prescriptions these days than anything. It is illegal because of old laws written to quell irrational hysteria. That is the truth.
P.S. Shouldn't at least be legal through prescriptions?

Marijuana IS NOT addictive. Alcohol and Cigarettes are addictive.
P.S. Back in the day, Big Tobacca profiteers had "pull" with lawmakers and wanted to see to it that Marijuana (tobacco's competitor) did not gain mainstream success. So that's why it's illegal, and that is also why there are ridiculous movies like Reefer Madness meant to scare people into not smoke weed.
Weed never killed anyone, nor do you get such vicious diseases as you do with smoking tobacco.
So people need to just change the way they look at things. Are they considering their own researched knowledge? Or are they only considering old knowledge of the past referred to as fact?

Because more than half of the people who vote in this country want it that way. Change their minds, and the democratic system will give you that legal high you want.
But finish that bag of Doritos first.

There is no evidence that it is a gateway drug -
There is no evidence that it leads to violent or crimimal behaviour
It has less health risks associated with it that cig's do
Why is it ilegal ?
Misinformation and a general fear that peace might break out

because its a worse form of beer and cigaretts put together it has heavier mind affects then beer and it has same effects as cigerettes (cancer) and will usually lead to other heavier drugs.
