The manual that we have now are crap, and we need a more detailed manual, perferably free but if I have to download it or buy it I will. This is my grandpa's old truck that we are working on. It used to be owned by the Territory of Alaska Dept. of Transportation work truck. Any help is appreciated.

Let me guess. You have a clutch peddle, brake peddle, gas peddle, and a extra peddle right by the gas peddle. The extra peddle is the starter peddle. At least that how my dad's 52 Chevy pickup was. I learned how to drive it when I was 10. Manual brakes, "arm strong power steering" Wiper worked on vacuum, when you step on the gas they quit working till you let off of the gas.

If you have access to a university library they may have one. I don't think they will let you check it out but you can make copies of what you need.

Feel free to contact me.

Good Luck

I've seen old car manuals at antique festivals or in the newspaper ads for sale, even garage sales. . .

You could put a wanted ad in and someone may respond, otherwise, I'd keep looking in the flea markets etc for a cheap one. I have seen them back to about 1937/1939 Pontiac. . .

good luck

A 1951 Chevy truck is so simple to work on. What is wrong with it? Won't start? Headlites inop? What?
