I mean, the cost of the war is always the standard anymore. All politicians who oppose the war, yet claim to support the troops are constantly saying we spend too much in Iraq. How is it that complaining about the cost of operations is equal to supporting the troops?

My personal thoughts, no kid is going without medical care in the USA for lack of money. I want every effort being made to get the job done in Iraq and bring our troops home. Healthcare can wait, we are in a war like it or not lets get it done right the first time.

At the risk of stating the obvious. Pooring more money into Iraq isn't going to help the US win the war in Iraq. Especially since it is a civil war.

Historiclly speaking, this nation spent billions of dollars and 10 years in Vietnam and cost the lives of 53,000 American soldiers and we still lost. Was Vietnam worth the cost.

I hope this nation doesn't have to through that again.

Take a look at the $5 million dollar street paved in Bagdad. They forgot the Sewer lines and had to dig it up.
Take a look at the $5 million dollar building the U.S. Government paid $72 million dollars for and the plumbing leaks and there is human waste dripping from the ceilings. It is uninhabitable.
WE SUPPORT THE TROOPS WE DON'T SUPPORT WASTE AND CORRUPTION.

You are trying to compare apples with oranges. They are completely different issues. Complaining about the money we are wasting in Iraq has nothing to do with whether I support our troops or not.

I agree.

Complaining that our efforts are costing us too much is akin to saying our country is not worth enough.

Though otherwise, I disagree.

We should never pull completely out of Iraq. The Iranian border is prime real estate that we would be both foolish and remiss to abandon and getting our hands on it again would be much more expensive than simply staying.
