While recording the album(CRIME OF THE CENTURY), Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson recorded approximately 42 demo songs from which, only 8 were chosen to appear on the album. Several other tracks appeared on future albums;DREAMER was one of them

This was definitely a keyboard-based song. The electric keyboard used by supertramp was an odd little thing - the Wurlitzer electric piano. I'm not aware of anyone having used it but I'm sure I'll be proved wrong. It had a very distinctive sound (tinkly at the top, sort-of reedy in the middle) and distorted when played hard - an effect used deliberately by both Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson who played it (not both at the same time!). No guitar here!
