It's like affirmative action, you don't say anything about the majority (Christians) and play up to the minorities to make up for them being overlooked for centuries.
Heck, I was out of college before I heard of Qwanza. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, you can't turn on a TV without seeing a Christmas movie (Miracle on 34th St. with Jimmy Stewart being my favorite) but how many Qwanza or Hanukkah movies or TV specials have you seen?
I still see lots of Merry Christmas stuff out and Hallmark already has their Christmas ornaments on sale but I didn't see them selling any Qwanza stuff and, at most, they have some "Happy Hanukkah" cards and wrapping paper. Looking for appropriate Hanukkah gifts is murder in southern NM. You wouldn't believe what I had to go through to find a beautiful ornamental ceramic dreidel for a friend.
I may be mocked as a lil' ol' lib lawyer woman but I'm all for doing more for Hanukkah and Qwanza.

First of all, who says it is? I've seen stores that took down the Chanukah signs as well. And even if it is, (and mind you, I don't agree with this, I'm just stating the facts,) it's because it's the minorities that are offended by the Christmas signs, not the other way around. Again, I don't agree with that, but that's the logic.
