So, I got a new monitor and it is a Dell monitor.
When I was switching out my old monitor for my new monitor, the new monitor worked for a while, then all of a sudden, it switched to a black screen, but the power button was green, so I guess it was saying that it was still on.

I press the power button again, and it turns back on but a few seconds later, it "turns off" again...is there anyway for me to fix this?

please help...

Oh, and for the monitor specifically, I don't know if there is a "service tag number" so I could, 't really ask them for technical support...and I don't want to resort to calling them...I got the monitor separately, nothing wrong with my modem.

I've tried inserting every number looking code on the monitor, one almost worked...said it was from out of the country though..

Return it to Dell.

If you can get your money back and buy from someone who is more reliable.

Contact Dell for help and a replacement of a monitor.

There should be a service tag look around http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/en/identifyyoursystem?c=pr&cs=prdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~mode=popup
