Why do people in subdivisions worry so much about other people's yards?

I have always wondered why some people are so arrogant they think they even have a say in what their neighbors do. Were they born with a silver spoon in their *** and the doctor forgot to take it out? And does anyone else think covenants should be illegal? There are not any in my subdivision, but they are still wrong.

Because it reflects on the rest of the neighborhood and property values.

The reason is property value. My place goes down in value is Jose has 6 broken down cars in his yard, has brown grass and drinks beer out front while his 6 kids play in the street.
