Politically empowered women have equally nasty negative "catchback" agendas towards men just as the same is true vice-versa. Albeit the sexes are different; the taste and hunger for power is for both the same. Political sexism exists on BOTH sides of the fences.

Politically empowered women strongly favor passing social policies and laws unfairly favoring women and changing the way children in American society live and go to school; little wonder why such women in office quickly rack up political enemies.

The proverbial "rock in a hard place". Politically empowered women, knowing the political adversity they face, often make bad judgement calls in joining certain lobbyist political alliances (often done in rash decisions, born out of desperation) that eventually go to discredit their efforts in office further along their career time.

As you can see by some of these answers, there is still a lot of sexism around. Women in politics are judged differently than men but don't necessarily act different than men. Hillary has been called some really nasty names and I am of the opinion that if she was a man, it would be a different scenario.

Goldenrae9 has made point 1. The media attempts to trivialize women by commenting on appearance thus making women candidates appear frivolous.

I hope women politicians are different from men politicians in their compassion for humanity. Our current President," the compassionate conservative," is a cold heartless man. How quickly the media has forgotten how he described himself in 2000.

Yes and they get treated differently. Female politicians get criticized more harshly on looks and dress. They also are held accountable for acts of their husbands.
