They were the best! I miss those and the dollar movies! Ones that are already out on DVD and video but still great on the big screen. I also miss the barn side old non-talkies! Had that in Kansas, was the best nights of my life! Hot popcorn and a cute girl snuggled up under a thick blanket!

Absolutely! The whole family would go together! We popped up our own popcorn and treats, dressed in our pajamas so we could just be carried in to bed after falling asleep.

What I miss the most are the men with the red caps on flashlights directing traffic afterwards—it was so intriguing to see those red lights be swirled around!

Of course, later on in life, in the teenager stage—now that was a whole different story!! (smile)

Thanks for the memories, friend! Blessings.

Then you can bring your own food and eat all you want and nobody is watching you or telling you to be "quiet" cause the bag is making to much noise. Oh yea and you can sit anyway you want or wear what you want. Yes i too miss the GOOD OLE DAYS.

I remember drive-ins with my parents. I actually saw "Star Wars" at a drive in. We had to drive 30 miles or so, but it was awsome. Back in the late 80's I used to go to the drive-in outside of Mountain Home, ID. When I hit the lottery, I will open a drive-in near Panama City, Fl.

I've told people that! I feel sorry for kids today that will never be able to experience one. They were a blast! Theatres are just not the same!
The last movie I saw at a drive-in was "Robin Hood" with Kevin Costner.

Yes, those were the good ole days. I always liked the back row. Wish they would make a come-back.

Yes, very much so! The prices would be MUCH cheaper and I could actually afford it without having to waste money. =) And then with that, I could actually just rest in my car and watch a movie in the comfort of the outdoors. That way we won't have to be cooped up in some gross movie theater.

hi there,
we still have them in virginia. there is one about forty minutes from my house. it's 5$ a car, and the movies are double features. i think there are four screens. i've been twice, maybe four years ago. it was alot of fun! we also have a drive-in restaurant, it's called The Bar-b-q Ranch. really good food, although somewhat greasy. i've been there three times.
so, those places still exist their just very few and far between unfortunately.

No not really . Very happy with a home theater and a DVD player. Not a lot of fun if it starts to rain and the car speaker doesn't work .
