Been there, seen it, it ain't pretty. For those of you that say " oh well, it's just a symbol it's not our country", try being in the military, stationed overseas and see it done, I guarantee you will change your mind.
BTW, we were under orders to do nothing if/when we witnessed flag burning, lest we spark an "international incident".

A little bit of history here...The very first population to burn a flag not only from other country, but their own, was the USA. They have been doing it for centuries now. In 1847 in the Battle of Chapultepec in Mexico City, a cadet from the academy that was invaded, yes INVADED, by
US troops, trew himself off the roof of the castle wrapped with the Mexican flag, in order to keep the "gringos" from burning it.
In the sixties many times protestants burned the flag. So, if you were looking for an outrighteous reaction, well, read your history before round any conclusions.

I guess that depends on how I was displaying my flag.
I suggest that when you go to Mexico, you should expect to abide by Mexican law and protocol regarding how you display the Mexican flag in conjunction with flags of other countries. If that means flying the Mexican flag above all other flags (even the flag of the United States), then that is the way it should be.
But in this country, a person should abide by our laws and protocol. That means flying no other flag above the flag of this country. If someone does not want to abide by our laws, they should stay home.

A flag is not a country. I wouldn't like it, but I definitely wouldn't pick a fight with a guy who obviously was attracted to burning things.

The same way I do here, with incredible sadness and pity for the stupidity of the idiot who would do such a thing.

What could I do? You're under a different set of boundaries when you are in another country...
