If the baby would be born a bastard (out of wedlock) abortion should be legal to preserve the dignity of the woman!

Usually children without married parents end up in prison or reform schools.

I know that if we had abortion in the good old days we wouldn't have the Beaufort's, the bastard children of John of Gaunt, the first Duke of Lancaster. I myself am descended from John of Gaunt through the Beaufort line but unwed mothers just aren't dignified these days. At least the Duke of Lancaster did his duty and took the responsibility.

Generally when one finds an unwed mother one simply assumes that she had been raped or that her lover is a rapscallion and in prison.

Otherwise, I am generally pro-life but in these most extreme of cases I would say bring on the abortion doctors.

On the other hand though if the parents already had a child and didn't want any more I would say that the abortion would be evil and for vain reasons.

1. Would you have an abortion to avoid birthing a bastard child?

That word is horrible, can't you use a little more dignity? Of course I wouldn't abort a gift so wonderful as a life.

2. If the baby would be born a bastard (out of wedlock) abortion should be legal to preserve the dignity of the woman!

Abortion should be legal no matter what. The woman looses no dignity by having a child out of wedlock, only the people (like you) who judge her for it.

3. Usually children without married parents end up in prison or reform schools.

What are you basing your statistics on? The only people I know that have ended up in jail/prison came from married parents.

4. I know that if we had abortion in the good old days we wouldn't have the Beaufort's, the bastard children of John of Gaunt, the first Duke of Lancaster.

So f-ing what? So he was the descendent of Henry the VIII, there were plenty of villanous people throughout history who weren't born "bastards" as you seem so fond of referreing to them as such.

5. I myself am descended from John of Gaunt through the Beaufort line but unwed mothers just aren't dignified these days. At least the Duke of Lancaster did his duty and took the responsibility.

Maybe she should have had an abortion, then people wouldn't be influenced by your stupidity.

6. Generally when one finds an unwed mother one simply assumes that she had been raped or that her lover is a rapscallion and in prison.

Um, no they don't. That would only be someone as ignorant as yourself.

7. Otherwise, I am generally pro-life but in these most extreme of cases I would say bring on the abortion doctors.

You should have been aborted.

8. On the other hand though if the parents already had a child and didn't want any more I would say that the abortion would be evil and for vain reasons.

I agree here, of course the word evil is a little strong.

I think this is one of the craziest things that i have ever heard..im sure that you are going though a rough time right now but don't you dare take the easy way out and have an abortion. If the baby is such a burden to you put it up for adoption but don't murder that child. It is god's creation, and not a mistake. Ton's of children now days are born without married parents. I hope you make the right decision, the only other option is murder. You choice though you have to live with it.

Are you totally nuts. The ONLY time a unborn child should be aborted is if there are serious medical concerns for the mother and child. A baby is one of the biggest gifts, just to be able to have a child/ren is amazing, some people just cant have them, Imaginge how it makes them feel to hear that people are wanting to get rid of innocent lives when they are struggling to create one themselves. If your dont want children DONT have sex. If you want a child then get married if thats your view. The are HUNDREDS of single parents out there and just beacuse the parents wern't married at the time of conception or birth does not make that child any less than one who has two parents that are married. Maybe you hould go back to the dark ages aye.

OMG you really are a snooty bastard aren't you? (No pun intented.) Where do you get your information from? These seem like they're your assumptions and let me tell you, you're cracked. And how do you know if a woman is unwed or not when she has a child? Lack of a wedding ring? Ever hear of swollen fingers mister! How can you think of "bringing on" abortion doctors because a child's parents aren't married? Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it!

I was born out of wedlock in 1946. The circumstances were that my birth mother had several liaisons with foreign nationals after WW2 ended. I was adopted by a wonderfully caring couple who brought me up to believe in truth and justice. I now have a wife (35th anniversary this year) and two grown up children. Think what would have been lost if I had been aborted.

Preserve the dignity of the woman? Are you serious?

If she had any dignity to preserve, she wouldn't be screwing around.

And no, I am a 'bastard' child, and will not end up in prison or a reform school, and thats a damn promise, sir.

You need a dose of reality.

Females who screw around, get pregnant, should have to deal with the consequences.

Theres never an easy way out. Suck it up.

No I would not. I am a married mother of three boys so it
is hard for me to relate to this question but I would never abort a baby.
If I was unmarried and the kind of girl to have sex with married men and I became pregnant by a married man I would give the baby up for adoption so that I would not ruin
a marriage or a family.

Umm Im sorry but I DONT think so!!!

Get some facts straight! 1. Not all children go to jail or anything with having one parent! and 2. You cant judge a child thats not even born!

Your a jerk if you think that. I belive with No Abortions unless its your life or your unborn childs life thats in risk!

I agree . You should never have children! But try to stop it before anyone gets pregnant.
Lets see. According to you, if a woman is careless and gets pregnant she should kill the baby because it's going to be a criminal anyway. Hmmmm.
