Definitely NOT.

There's a good percentage of the populace over 21 that hasn't the sense to vote. When it was lowered to 18, the percentage got even higher.

At age 13, we would likely be electing Donald Duck president.

.......

Hhmmmm. That might be better than what we have now. Let me think about this a bit.

No. 18 is the rightful age of adulthood and logical reasoning that comes with maturity (at least in most people).

We don't want to make politics even more of a popularity contest than it already is; we don't need 13 year olds voting for a candidate because they "think he's cool" or "likes his haircut" or "thinks she's rad." We all know what happens when teenagers get together and vote - just watch American Idol.

I feel the voting age shoudl be set back at 21, as you do need a cooler mind to vote.

people 13 or so are too involved in toher things to pay attention to politics (not that older people are much better)

Hey smart...

The reason for the voting age is to allow people to develop themselves and learn about the world. People do have a wide variety of opinions, but they develop these opinions from experience.

Your opinion and point of view counts... and so do you. But learn about the world before you decide to change it.

Before you worry about being able to vote, you should first solve the mystery about why 15 y/o's have to pay adult admission at the theater, but don't have full access to all movies.

Warm regards,
Douglas

Huh? Are you kidding? Let's face it, people should NOT be allowed to vote at all until they can pass a civics test on all branches of government at all levels and can prove they know the issues.

No! They know nothing of what is going on in the world of politics, and are gullible and easily impressionable. That would be a horrible idea. They are more concerned with playing video games and learning how to french kiss!

I think that is kind of young, and don't see a benefit to it.

Hell, no one votes that I know of in my age bracket, and I'm in my 30s.
Except me, of course.

I am very educated about the presidential election and world issues at school so it really depends on how educated the child is. Most kids aren't so I think kids shouldn't.
