Yes he is, he was a great leader and heaven knows where we would be if he hadn`t taken over from Chamberlain who tried and failed to appease Hitler!
Anyone who thinks he isn`t is in need of a history lesson!

None of you people have a clue as to what a scumbag Churchill really was. That's because you don't get the facts from Hollywood. It is true that the Kaiser did try to avoid war, look it up dindongs. It's also true that this "wonderful" ally Churchill was glad to suck the USA into both World War I and II when the Brits were getting their butts whipped. He was pleased when US ships were being sunk, just happy to get the USA to bail his sorry butt out. It was Churchill who said "Americans will always do what's right once they've tried everything else" Sound like he liked Americans? You're kidding yourselves. Hitler was despicable; Churchill wasn't much better.

yes he is considered a hero. But only because he was the leader through a war, and most importantly was there when we won the war, anyone like that is going to be considered a hero. So unless we have another world war we won't have any such people again

Yes, but the Brits are taking him and the rest of what happened during WWII out of their teaching curriculum! How are the future generations suppose to prevent future atrocities like the Nazi's, if they never learn about them.
Also, I wouldn't want someone like FDR again. He was a communist sympathizing socialist. He and LBJ are the precursors to todays level of socialism in this country! Look it up, he's only thought of as a great president because of WWII.

personally no, Churchill was a great British war leader but apart from that that he was a git. he was largely responsible for the galipoli disatser, he had striking miners shot and Wales and did not represent the majority of people at the time.
