There are fairly common in most pet stores, but more difficult to find in some areas. Check your local fish stores first, then look in chain stores like Petco and Petsmart (chain stores rarely care for their fish well). If you get really desperate, you can order online. They also go by the name Dojo Loaches.

Buy Golden Dojo Loaches- http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=2099

EDIT 2: Sorry, but Weather/Dojo Loaches are illegal in Australia because they have been declared an invasive species. If you really want one, check around local bodies of natural water (lakes, creeks, streams). They can "walk" on land to get to other bodies of water, so be sure to check on the water's edge as well as in the shallows (with a small net).

1. Try calling your local petstore like PetSmart or Petco.
2. Chances are if you ask them to order in or get you some *weather loaches or "dojo" loaches they can do it.
3. Do webs searches of online fish retailers and check them for them.

- Other than that, i wish you luck! :] -

Depends where you are !
I know a couple of shops where you can buy them but they are local.
I don't think they are rare or unusual so I can't see why you are having a problem - more details maybe ?

they are good scavagers ( spelling ?) and they are very common they are great candidates for a cool water tank and they need at least about 2,3 inches of gravel for burrowing
