I think you are asking for examples of rocks that are composed essentially of only one mineral.

Gypsum, dolomite, marble, peridotite, anorthosite, carbonatite, limestone, quartzite, dunite to name a few.

For something to be a mineral there are 5 components:
1) naturally occuring
2)inorganic
3)Solid
4)atoms formed in a orderly pattern
5)crystal structerd
