Well if he plays sports give him this example...
You know how every year when you do really well you get a trophy brother?
hopefully his response will be yes and then you can tell him that those are your trophies for doing real well in your sport.

I'd tell him in a casual private conversation with him. He may not entirely understand but he may just think of you more as his fem brother who enjoys girls panties. If he is cool with you you will feel so releived, he may even buy you some for your birthday.

It is better left to his imagination.
If you tell him you will be subject to black mail which may include favors you may not want to give. While I know that this does not indicate your sexual preferences, many will and that is a shame.
