this answer really depends on what you are using your computer for. if you are just using it for basic internet surfing and email 1 gig of ram will do just fine for you. if you will be using your computer for high performance things such as making movies or doing alot of digital photography, you might want to go with the 2 gig. it is essentially up to you based on what you will be doing with your computer but 2 gigs will give a performance boost if you use your computer for high performace things. hope this helps

Yes and where on earth are you buying the RAM from? 1 GB can be worth around $30 depending on the type you buy and you can easily by 2 Gigs for $60 from Newegg. If you buy it for $150 you got ripped off.

No, not in a lifetime.
Get the 1 Gig configuration, then, if you notice you need more, buy 2 Gigs from newegg.com at $69.99.
If you need help selecting new RAM, or during the installation, you can always ask for help here, plus your computer should have a manual that shows how to do it.
But trust me, if all you want to do is listen to music, word processing, and internet surfing, 1 Gig is enough, even for Vista.

2 GBs is really helpful with Vista. No way should you pay 150 for an extra 1GB of ram thou. You can buy 2 gigs of overclocking ram with micron D9 chips for less than 150. !!!!

Going from 1 to 2 gb is worth it. The price is bad though. You can buy a 2-1gb memory pack for around $100

Unlikely so equating that much money. However the mere usefulness of it at all really depend on what you use it for, still probability is high that you have no use of the extra amount unless you are using Vista.
