It would be a cat, because I already have 2 of them. Besides, this neighborhood already has too many barking dogs.

i have a dog and a cat but if i had had to chose it would be a dog because you have to walk them and if your feeling down they give you a reason to go out they gard the house there allways pleased to see you but there not that good at geting the mice thats were a cat comes in handy so if you have both you have twice the plesure and the cat sometimes comes for a walk aswell lol

i guess a dog would protect you if an intruder broke in your house.. A cat would only run and hide. So I say a dog. A huge mean dog.

I would pick a cat. You do not have to walk them out side in the middle of the night, in the middle of a snow storm. They do not bark or jump on you with big muddy paws. You can leave them for a few days, given enough water and food and a clean litter box and they do not care one bit. They do not demand your attention. Ya, I pick a cat every time.

For now it would be and is a cat. With a dog, someone needs to be home on time to let him outside and It's hard to go away all day without either taking the dog or paying someone to take care of him. Cat's pretty much care for themselves and can be left for a couple of days with food and water left out for them.

I already have a cat so I choose - cat hehe they are more independant than a dog and just beautiful to watch

I love all animals but I'd have to say dog. They're loyal and loving. (most of them anyway) Where as cats are so independant, and do their business in other peoples gardens, so other people have to clean up after them.
Also, they occasionally bring you little presents in, like dead birds or mice.
Yep... deffo a dog.

I already have two cats. I would like to get a dog, but I'm content with my cats for now. They give me enough trouble, but I love them.
