I do it all the time. I connect the tape player to my Mac's audio input, then record while the tape plays. Then I use Roxio's CD Spin Doctor (part of Toast) to automatically split into tracks. The tracks can be adjusted if needed. Then, I burn to CD with Toast.
There are many utilities that can do the recording step. Spin Doctor is one of them, though I use the free Audio Recorder because Spin Doctor's play-through feature doesn't work, at least for me. Play-through allows you to hear the tape through your computer speakers as it is being played/recorded.

Yes, I know!
Go to in person the Brookstone Store or www.brookstone.com and click to electronics, then audio, then click turntables and you will find image and description of Songwriter Recordable Turntable.
Price is around $400.00 before taxes or shipping.
It does lots! Listen to am/fm, cassettes, lp's--33 1/2 , 45, 78, and cd's.
This will record from cassette and long playing records.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Yes it can be done. You will need a way to attach your cassette player to your computer, such as an audio cable, then you will be able to download the cassette to your computer using a program such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net). Once the cassette is downloaded on your computer, you will be able to burn it to a cd.
