If you can have some type of proof of it, like a web page, or something, that would be helpful. Also, ive never seen them in a web. As you can see in the corner, its dirty... (my bad). Theres a bit of "fuzz" in the corner, not ur usual web, although i KNOW there are all types of webs...

It also looks like a Wolf Spider to me. Wolf Spiders are named because they do not weave a web in order to catch prey. They are active hunters, meaning that they will roam around and attack similar to wolves. They do not hunt in groups though.

Wolf Spiders, like almost all other spiders, are venomous, however their venom is not dangerous to humans. A reddish area around the bite site and some itching is about the only reaction that will occur. Wolf Spider bites have been known to be quite painful though. They will not bite unless they are threatened. They are not aggressive spiders.

One way to positively ID this spider, is to darken the room and shine a flash light at the front of them. Their eyes will glow, similar to a mammals eyes. Wolf Spider, being active hunters, have exceptionally good eyesight for a spider.

Wolf Spiders are very robust looking spiders. They are really quick, thus your inability to get them to sit still for a photo. They are afraid of you.

Like I said earlier, do not fear this spider. If it were a choice of this arachnid, and say a beetle, cricket, cockroach etc. wandering around the house, I would pick the spider. What I am saying, is that they are very beneficial as they will hunt down and kill many of the nasties that you do NOT want in your house.

Here is a photo and some info...

Keep in mind that Wolf Spiders come in many different sizes, and their colors vary from a light tan to a dark brown (almost black) so your spiders may not look identical to this one.

Hope this helps!!!!!

Look like wolf spiders to me,too. They won't bother you unless you bother them first! I usually catch them in a jar or cup and put them outside.Since fall is here, they'll be looking for a warm place to spend the winter,so be prepared for more.

They are wolf spiders.
They arn't poisonous, but if you have a lot you should call the exterminator.
