I try the silders in the OC screen and put it up like 2 MHz (just to test it out). I enable the funtion and when i restart, my comp doesnt go past the Windows XP loading screen. My system is very cool ( my CPU runs at 34 degress at rest); what other factors may be present? Why does this happen?

that should help you out but before you even try to oc anything, make sure you know everything, and i mean EVERYTHING. know what you doing and how you're gonna do it before you attempt. ocing runs the risk of seriously screwing up your gpu.

Hi. Start out with the slowest speed increase possible, as with any over-clocking. Make sure to check the "Start with Windows" or similar. Hit the fastest then back off a bit. Have fun!

T is right on. Also dont up the voltage on your card unless you dont mind paying for a new video card cuz thats the best way to fry a video card.

you are able to push the cardboard all you like (watch temps and test for artifacts) yet your nonetheless going to be limited by skill of the cpu/memory on that gadget. you will see the actual ability of that card with suitable motherboard/cpu/memory.
