BIOS (basic input output system) is a sort of mini operating system that your computer's motherboard uses.

When you boot your computer, before you see the Windows message on the screen, you should see a short message that says something like:
DEL= BIOS
F8=SAFEMODE

It's different depending on the manufacturer of the motherboard and the maker of your computer.. you can also go to your computer manufacturer's website and their support pages should tell you how to get into the BIOS.

You must hit the proper KEY before windows boots.

Yes, you can make changes in the BIOS. and this should be done with extreme care. The BIOS really should be left alone unless you are wanting to put a password on the computer at bootup, or to disable onboard sound, or to change the boot order of devices.

Good Luck

Reboot your PC and the first thing to load is the BIOS - there's usually a message, e.g. press F10 to enter setup, for example. Do as it says and you should be taken into the BIOS. You can change loads of stuff (unless it's protected, e.g. like a work computer) but don't chnage anything unless you know what you're doing. Well, actually, it's a free country - you can hnage whatever you like, but just don't expect it to work afterwards if you don't know what you're doing.

Hi. The BIOS settings allow your computer to read and control CPU settings, RAM timings, etc. During the boot cycle you press the "Delete" key or some other key (it will tell you) but be careful. Do not save any settings until you understand what will happen, OK?

Basic input/output system - is set of program that let CPU talk to devices, when you first turn on you computer. you can change them by press F12, CTRL+INS, CTRL+Del access to BIOS usually shows when you tun on you PC. like i said you can change if you know what are you doing. otheriwise don't, because you can screw up your system pretty bad.

good luck

My belief it stands for "built in operating system",
press the delete key (usually) on seeing the initial
white on black text on boot up.

There you will see the bios settings.

if you have to ask you probably don't know enough to go into the bois by yourself.. cause if you make a wrong move there you can turn your computer into a 1000 dollar doorstop.
