I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Windows XP. I always have to shut it down (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Any suggestions?

Hi, Sam

The web browser itself freezes. The rest of the computer is fine. I use Windows Internet Explorer. I think I have up-to-date anti-virus software (it runs all the time and annoys me!). Not sure about firewall. We use Netgear and my housemates don't have a problem. The computer is a year old.

When you say "your computer freezes" does the whole computer freeze, or just the web browser?

Need a little more information:

- what web browser do you use
- Internet Explorer 6 / 7
- Firefox
- Opera
- Other

- do you have up-to-date antivirus software running

- do you have either a hardware firewall, or firewall software running on your computer

- How do you connect to the internet? Broadband? Dial-up?
