I am from Iowa, does anyone know how I can get help with making a deposit on my apartment.. I hear that the Salvation Army will help, but does anyone know how I go about doing that or how that works? Thanks...
I just dont understand how they expect a single mom to make a deposit and first month rent at the same time...

additionally some landlord will take the down in 2 payments if you ask for arrangements.

Sorry, a friend or relative would be best. Presumably, you also get child support and possibly some welfare benefits.
Who's they? Life takes money - am I supposed to pay for it for you? Being a single mom is not the way to financial security, statistics show. Good luck - try to put some emergency funds away for the future.

Maybe the landlord will let you pay the deposit in two or three installments. You could talk to a local church for help.
