The use of a Ouija board is not wrong. You can, however, USE it wrong. There's some wicked stuff in this world and that, and if you start blindly messing around with it, you can do some serious harm. Most often to yourself. I've never had an issue, but I follow certain rituals to start and end sessions.
Personally, though, I prefer the board I have (Psychic Circle) over the Ouija board. It seems to be easier for communication with most of the spirits I've encountered.

The Ouija board is a focus point for communication with entities & spirits in other planes of existence .
The Problem is that the novice can use this tool or even kids can play with it and they don't know how to shut down what they initiate. Also not all spirit play nice some actually influence the living in negative ways.
If you want to go down this path work on your medium abilities under guidance of an experienced pratitioner.
Ask around in the spiritualist church or local pagan circles for whom can aid you.

No, a ouiji board in itself is not wrong. It's a piece of wood or cardboard.
I'm gonna go on (because I'm in that mood) but why in the world are you asking a question like this when you state you 'know the answer'? Are you going to 'tell on' those of us who say it's not wrong? Are you going to give a gold star to people whose dogma agrees with yours? Are you trying to start a fight between 'sides'? In case there's any doubts, I'm questioning your motives and your ethics, "Pastor" Carney.
*deep breath*
A ouiji board is one of a number of tools that can be used to communicate with the supernatural. If the people using the board are hoping and expecting something malevolant to come across and phrase their questions in that way guess what? Something malevolant (or at least chaotic) is going to come across.
Others use it as a means of communication and contact. The best method is when both people with the planchette have their eyes closed and an independant third person writes down the letters which are selected.
So no, it's not evil. It's yet another way to get closer to Deity. But because it's different, and personal, and requires intelligence certain church establishments have claimed it 'evil' and 'wrong'. Like they do with many other form of spiritual worship. Why? Because this leads to people worshiping in their own way and not in a way dictated by the Church.
These people are the same ones who conveniently forget Christ was a mystic.
Blessings to you!

It is a good way to communicate with spirits good and bad. However, there is always a risk that you will communicate with an evil spirit and it will try to mess with you. If you do not have a strong spirit and you have little skill in the spirit realm, more than likely, there is a good possibility you will communicate with a lost spirit.
Most spirits that you communicate with are angry because they have not let go of their physical lives. They will be bitter because they have unfinished business to do and they can't do it themselves because they are dead. However, if you are a powerful spirit, you can help these spirits communicate with the living so they will move on to the other side.
But, you really got to know what you are doing.

Oh good grief! I'm so tired of people trying to build a bonfire with a wet match.
One of the things I did while still lecturing at churches was to demonstrate a Ouija board.
While I controlled the planchette there were no untoward incidents. When there was a person who tried to "make things exciting" as one person stated after I asked him to stop trying to spell Satan and he admitted he had thought of Satan, but didn't know he was physically forcing the planchette so much it was tilting.
He actually admitted that he wanted the board to show evil, when the pastor asked him, "before God."
On the other hand there was a matriarch of a Church that sat opposite of me and asked her question. We waited for the planchette to move and the pastor made notes. The planchette was really attuned to her. We barely touched the planchette and a few letters then series of numbers were pointed out. It was the date of the first time she had been kissed by her deceased husband. She asked if she could buy the board, so I gave it to her as a gift.

Because people have ended up inviting some very nasty entities into their homes, and then not had any idea how to then get rid of them.....
Some people make good money cleaning up the messes that foolish people make.
Maybe you could find someone to clean up the mess you make with a ouija board, maybe you will not find someone who can get rid of it.
Enjoy.

Yes, using a ouija board is wrong when one believes in right and wrong, good and evil. I believe it opens doors to the darkness, so to speak. We don't need any more darkness in this world. Let's keep it LIGHT.

I have seen many results from Ouija board one is to become obsessed or possessed!
"The Ouija board is a vehicle which makes it easy for negative spirits and demonic forces to enter this plane of existence." cautioned that evil spirits or demonic forces often gain the trust of people experimenting with Ouija boards by answering several questions truthfully and providing predictions.
"Once they have gained the trust of their victims, it is easy for the entity to move in and take over either by strongly influencing that person, or by outright possession," .
People who are untrained and unsophisticated in the field of the paranormal and supernatural should never play with devices such as the Ouija board!
Don't Get Trapped with Ouija boards
If you want to communicate with Spirits work on your Psychic senses and do it the right way it may take longer however it is more rewarding : ) The easy way is not always the right way, you have to work for your rewards with knowledge
Love & Blessings

No it's not. Stop trying to start a holy flame war. No one's religious belief is wrong, unless it impinges on the beliefs and rights of others. Which typically only christianity does. I mean really...when's the last time a buddist asked you where you were going when you die, or a wiccan knocked on your door to talk to you about Gaia's plan for your life.

yes it is wrong, about forty years ago in Mexico my father and two of his siblings were playing with a Ouija and it kept showing them a date, but none of them knew the significance of it. they decided to write it down then they showed it to my grandpa and he told them that it was the day his father was hanged. later that day they kept playing with it, but now they were asking questions, unlike before, and the answers that it gave them scared them a lot and they got rid of the board.
