Actually I'm more curious as to how she's taught you about accents, exactly? She's taught me that many Americans are too worried about who won on American Idol to do any real research on candidates, or use their brains in a responsible manner.

She is a redneck who worked very hard to hide her accent in Washington (to avoid being called a redneck).
The accent comes back when she is in a rural area for a few days. My parents are from Missouri but I grew up in California. It's amazing how fast I catch an accent when I am in the South.
