Who is the most mediocre player to score 50 goals in a NHL hockey season?

Gary Leeman.
Bobby Carpenter has a lower career goals per game total, but Carpenter was supposed to be America's first NHL star.

I'd have to say Gary Leeman.
Wayne Babych scored at a 40 goal pace for 3 straight years and was hampered with injuries.
Bobby Carpenter was a great player, one of the youngest 50 goal scorers, then he became a defensive forward.
Hakan Loob, how can anybody say Hakan, he left the NHL after his 50 goal season or he probably would have done it again, he was a point a game guy.
The people who said Mogilny and Brett Hull are idiots
Definitely Gary Leeman, too bad he couldn't score on the ice as well as he did off the ice.

Stephane Richer for Montreal...
Richer scored 50+ goals for the Montreal Canadiens in 1987-88 and 1989-90, becoming the only player to do so since Guy Lafleur's heyday. Richer confirmed during the 2001-02 season that he has been battling depression during the majority of his career.

I'd go with Wayne Babych. Career high 54, next highest season total 27. I think he had the lowest career goals for any 50 goal member, with 192. Just a few short of Leeman.
I wouldn't say Babych scored at a 40 goal pace for 3 years, 30-35 maybe. Leeman did at least reach 30 a couple other times. Its just that Leeman tanked after the 51 season, whereas Babych put up fair numbers after his 54.
