Yes Ramona, I have been there and I feel your pain. I got beat out by someone who answered, "I don't know" The asker just said, "thanks, it is a mystery." I and several others had solved the so called mystery but were ignored. Unfortunately, many people are too clueless to know the answer when it is before them. Another question was, "Does the KKK still exist." I researched for close to 2 hours in order to give as accurate an answer as possible. I was beat out for best answer by someone who made no attempt to answer the question but simply did a tirade against the KKK. It also is my opinion that there are some people on here who have more than one YA account who ask a question under one id and answers the question under another id. These people will almost always have their questons and answers under the private setting so as to not let you see how they got their high % of best answers. I noticed that one person always gave as their answer "bubble gum" and they would sometimes be awarded best answer. I wish it were otherwise. Some askers will do right, others won't. I think realizing that has helped me to not be too disappointed. Best wishes, Panda
OMG, I just notice that the one below me, "Joan" had a "I don't know" answer chosen as best answer. In fact 40% of her answers were chosen as best answers. ummmm. Just kidding. In her case, I think it is coincidental. Joan, you will be able to vote when you reach level 2. You are level 1 now.

It does often bug me when they let questions go to vote -- here I put time and thought into an answer, and I don't even know whether they read it.

I tend to write elaborate answers, and am often complimented on it -- for being complete and thorough.

Try not to worry about Best, it doesn't really matter. The points have no meaning.

If you don't enjoy answering, then don't.

But when you help someone, well, you've helped. Those times are what make it worth it.

(Sometimes people DO read the answers, but either because they don't understand how the site works, or because they accidentally let it lapse, they don't choose a Best.)

I rarely ask questions. However, A lot of times I just can't just choose a best answer. Mainly because I get a lot of great answers. Maybe because your answers are so elaborate. People are to lazy to read the whole thing. Maybe you're not speaking their language. What I mean by that is: are you using big words? Trailing on and on? etc. I applaud you, atleast you're putting thought into your answers. Regardless of whether the questionaire sees that or not.

It's Yahoo. That's the nature of the beast. I've gotten a best answer for a sarcastic remark I casually tossed out, seen countless other people's answers chosen as best that were flatly wrong, and been frustrated to tears by questions so poorly worded that they were incomprehensible. That's what happens when anyone can wander in, post practically anything, and it all carries equal weight.

Joan, you are not able to vote because you are level 1. When you get enough points to rise to level 2 you will be able to vote for best answer and to give thumb up and down at the sight of the question.

its not too undesirable, i like the way you comprehend syllables and how they fit in songs. however the ideal is to maintain it hassle-free as a communique and enable circulate like one. i will supply you an occasion right this is your first line i don't wanna say something reason you will twist it into some thing it is not and that i don't wanna combat anymore reason you will say that we've not fought i don't wanna circulate everywhere reason you will tell me i'm interior the incorrect spot and this the thank you to simplefy i don't wanna say something you twist words into ineffective knots i don't wanna combat anymore you assert there replaced into no conflict fought

The only place the elaborate ones get read are in the mental health section. A normal person wants someone to be straight-up to the point (at least that's what I think.)

Instead of writing the story, attempt to summarize it... got me?

Don't answer trying to get best answer. Just answer the question as best as you can.
