I think it's stupid. He's not the one who goes out and signs those guys. It's not his fault that the Yankees have an aging pitching staff and a below average bullpen. Fire Brian Cashman if you want to fire someone. Or make some big changes in players and get a better team. It's all about quality, not how much you spend

Steinbrenner needs to get his priorities in order

The Yankees without Joe Torre, is like the Yankees without Jeter

I would miss him - but as a Yankee fan I want to win. I think he should be fired if he gets eliminated in the ALDS or ALCS. American League Champions : fine.

But, I cant take all of this losing. WE have a 200,000,000 budget and players who do great things in the regular season but yet they cant take what they did in the regular season into the post season.

But than again, Georgie could have done it in a more respectable manner then just blurting out comments like 'If Joe Torre doesn't win tonight he will be fired.' After all - he did bring you great years 1996 - 2001.

But Georgie does want to win. That's why he bought the Yankees a long time ago - he isn't afraid to make decisions that could make other players and fans angry. Because ya know what?

He.

Wants.

To.

WIN!

I do not see George Steinbrenner actually getting rid of Joe Torre as manager if the New York Yankees. After all, he is one of the most successful managers in Major League Baseball and if he goes, I do not see the Yankees making the postseason in 2008.

i do no longer care who became handling the Yankees the final 6 years they weren't going to win the international sequence or circulate from now on interior the the playoffs, than they did having Torre as their supervisor. The Yankees greatest difficulty is pitching. they have terrible commencing pitching and an excellent worse bullpen, and it somewhat is been like that for years now. they might spend 200 million or 200 billion on positions gamers it won't substitute something. until they get stable pitching they'll under no circumstances win the international sequence or maybe get there. that doesn't advise they might desire to circulate out and merely supply massive money to any pitcher that comes alongside, Clemens is a sturdy occasion esspecialy this year. they might desire to circulate out and get 3 stable commencing pitchers and a minimum of three greater relief pitchers all severe high quality no longer basically severe salaries. until Stienbrenner desires to spend 3 hundred million next year on payroll, he would desire to do away with Giambi, if he can because of the fact Giambi's settlement isn't up yet. do no longer resign AROD if he opts out of his settlement, because of the fact it somewhat is too plenty money for a postion participant once you have no pitching in any respect, the factor the Yanks pay on his 27 million a year will pay for no less than 4 stable pitchers.

I hate the Yankees, but I do admire Joe Torre greatly. If he is fired, it will be a shame. Especially since we are talking about George Steinbrenner here, one of the biggest jerks in the game today.

Wait until one of these times when Steinbrenner REALLY has to find out what it's like to be a loser.

No, I don't think so. Every year, "the BOSS pretends he's going to get rid of Joe Torre.

Frankly, I don't care ... I hate the Yankees, although I did love them when I was a kid in NY during the days of Mantle, Maris, Ford, etc. Those were the great days of Yankee baseball.

Now, all they care of, all ballplayers, is the bottom line, money. There is no loyalty anymore. It's money, money, and more money .. the heck with all of them.

Yes his job is on the line...........If he does get fired I think it's a mistake.........Joe is the best managers the Yankees have had in a long time..........He's made a few mistakes but he can't be blamed for the Yankees silent bats..........Joe's contract is up at season's end and there were rumors of his retirement early in this season............If he has to go I would rather it was his choice and not Steinbrenner's............CAT P.S........Please excuse my mistake.........I thought Torre's contract was up at the end of this season but I found out I was mistaken and it still has one more year to go........Sorry for the error...........CAT
