Alright so both my BF and I were addicted to WoW for about two years. Recently we both quit and I can honestly say I don't miss it at all. My BF is very competitive when it comes to things and he feels like he needs to be the best at everything. He mentioned to me that he might want to take up WoW again "just to make a video" because apparently there are no good hunter videos out. He feels like if he makes a video than all that time wasted on the game will be worth something. I feel kind of guilty in a sense because I know as well as many others do that he is an amazing hunter. Unfortunately, I get this feeling that if he goes back to the game he might get addicted again. WoW is a very difficult game to play in moderation, especially for him. So should I allow him to make his video or ask him to cut the game out of his life completely?

Let him play.
If this geek becomes your husband, he'll be on the computer all the time anyway. So who cares if he's playing WOW or surfing YA?

You need to let him make that decision. Tell him he can play or do what he would like....but that you don't want it to take over his life again. And if he feels he can be in control, then you're supportive. Maybe you could even help him put the video together.
My husband is addicted to Halo 3 online. We've found that if he plays, I find something else to do so that we are in the same room together, and it helps.
But the biggest thing is that you don't want to control him. Give him the freedom to make his own choices, and hope that he makes the right ones. And if you get hurt, you need to talk to him about it.
Best of luck to both of you.

1. I personally dont like WoW anymore lol
2. If you guys are going to start up again I suggest play on a private server. You wont have to pay a dime and its basically identical to the paying servers. http://www.wowstatus.net
Also, is he bored with you? I can't even remember the last time I chose to play games rather than spend time with my girlfriend. Of course... here I am on my computer answering Yahoo Questions for an hour...

I'm uncomfortable with the way you say 'should I allow him?', are you his mother or his friend? Make up your mind. Obviously you care about him and thats good but you should be discussing this as friends and equals. It shouldn't be a 'permission' situation.

talk to him about it, but I think if he's super competitive he should try to be the best boyfriend rather than the best hunter video maker.

you should never tell your boyfriend not to do something that he enjoys, if he does get addicted and you do not like it, then maybe you should find someone else who doesn't have flaws that you cannot stand.
