If she's 23, this could mean she's not been married...she doesn't know what the rigors of parenting are...the days when you're bleary-eyed cause your 4 year old was vomiting all night or the same face over the cereal bowl every morning before you trudge off to your job that you do every single day of your life.
She's 23, which also might mean since she's not been exposed to the realities of the boring blandness of marriage (we're all aware there are days like this, if we've been married with children), so she doesn't realize that he's really just wanting to "have some adventure" in his life.
It sounds trivial and trite and cliche`, but it's the literal truth. We all have felt stuck in that rut and sometimes, some people (men and women alike) just have to find a means to break out...right or wrong, people do things like that.

Wow, you have been put in a difficult position. Here is your friend and you obviously care about him or wouldn't be stuck on inappropriate choices he's making with his life. First of all let me answer just your question...I don't always think it's the guys that go younger but the girls that pursue older. Think about it. Women are complicated and we barely understand oursevles, in fact most times we don't. Doesn't it make since that a man with more experience with women has learned a few things over the years..how to listen even when our words are different than what we mean...how to hold us, ....how to calm us down with out ever saying the words "calm down" because he knows that always makes it worse...The list could go on all day. It doesn't matter how educated a man is only time/age can educate him on how a female works and therefore the older man becomes all the more charming despite his home life or looks. Ok now for back to your difficult situation, you know about this so you can help him. Obviously the reason he's looking else where is because his needs aren't being met with in his marriage. True needs must be met and if they aren't met at home they have to be met somehow. No,... this in no way condones his actions. A great place to start with helping his wife know and meet his needs and him to know and meet her needs is a great book by HARLEY, called HIS NEEDS, HER NEEDS. You can say, "Hey I know this book that's helped a lot of people in their marriage even ones struggling with affairs. It's called His Needs Her Needs, I know Barnes and Noble has it .(or, "here i picked it up for you"). I hope you don't think i'm butting in but i was just worried about things for you. Let me know if you ever wanna talk about it." You know this about his Life for a reason. Just because you say something doesn't mean he'll act on it positively or at all. You however will always be able to tell yourself you tried and you didn't let an opprotunity to help someone go by just because you were nervous. Good Luck! -flowers

I don't think it's a matter of men looking for younger women. I think it's more likely that if the opportunity presents itself, they are less likely to resist temptation with a younger women. Why, is the question...My guess is that it makes them feel good about themselves. The attention from someone younger means they still got it. Of course, this is all just assumption on my part (being a women)

He feels old and wants to feel younger. When men cheat it is mostly because they want to feel wanted, needed, younger. Afraid of growing old, the relationship at home is quiet. It could be in the bed room or it could be that him and his wife just do not spend enough time being good friends. Talking, spending time together and so on............

Because he has no self restraint or loyalty.. he must be more worried about lust then love .. he could also feel old now with 2 kids and thinks by cheating with a younger women then he is younger and cooler? He has problems with his confidence to need to do this sort of thing. You should inform his wife .. she should not waste her life with him when she could meet the man of her dreams.

Thanks!

You know this subject really makes me mad, first of all if he isnt happy with his wife, then GET OUT.... Before you hurt her/or him. However, Men think they are missing out when they really dont realize, that they actually need to confront the woman they are married too. I think they want this type of behavior because they feel older and want to see if they can get a younger woman. Not realizing what they are giving up. Make sure it is what you want. I advised that if you want to play house with younger women then GET OUT. You cant have your cake and eat it too.

A younger woman is more likely to go along with whatever, because she's naive. Not only that, but she's immature and doesn't seem to care he's married with children.

Both of them are scummy individuals.

Let Barbara Streisand explain it to you in her song "Second Hand Rose"

Father has a business strictly second hand
Everything from toothpicks to a baby-grand
Stuff in our apartment came from fathers store
Even things Im wearing someone wore before
Its no wonder that I feel abused
I never get a thing that aint been used

Im wearing second hand hats
Second hand clothes
Thats why they call me
Second hand rose

Even our piano in the parlor
Father bought for ten cents on the dollar
Second hand pearls
Im sick of second hand curls
I never get a single think thats new
Even jake, the plumber, hes a man I adore
Had the nerve to tell me hes been married before!

Everyone knows that Im just
Second hand rose
From second avenue!
From second avenue! nu!

For the same reason the younger girls go for the older guy. It strokes the ego and makes everyone involved feel special.

Good luck.

As you get older you need a younger girl to turn you on. When 17 or 18 anything will do, you don't look at the fireplace when poking the fire, as men get older they become more choosy.
